WinTech is committed to the development of adaptive rowing and equipment worldwide. Our line of adaptive rowing shells, the Explorer 21 single and 30 double, pontoons, fixed seats and other accessories was developed in response to research and testing with members of the adaptive rowing community.

WinTech’s director of research and development, chief engineer, and renowned designer Klaus Filter spent many months perfecting designs that meet the needs of adaptive rowers. As the sport evolves you can be assured WinTech will continue to incorporate the latest innovations in adaptive rowing.

WinTech is an official supplier of adaptive boats for FISA sanctioned rowing events and the WinTech Explorer 21 and 30 are the boats used by adaptive athletes during the 2008 Paralympics, Beijing, China

Explorer 21 with Fixed Seat and Pontoons

WinTech Fixed Seat

Item: 7800L WinTech Fixed Seat & Adjustable Seat Tracks

The new WinTech Adaptive Fixed Seat can be installed on any recreational single that can accommodate an approximate 13.5”/34cm mounting area on the seat deck. Seat attaches to the seat deck using a pair of special attachment tracks. These tracks allow the seat to be adjusted fore or aft in 1 inch increments with the click of a button. Tracks are located at 300mm width in accordance with FISA Adaptive rules. WinTech adaptive tracks fit right into existing holes for sliding seat tracks on all WinTech Explorers. (Older model Explorers may need to be re-drilled). Seat back can be adjusted for height and layback using quick release cams. Installation directions and all fasteners are included with these special seat tracks. Seat belt, chest strap, lap strap included.

WinTech Pontoons

Item: 7703 WinTech Pontoon (Attachment brackets to secure the pontoon to your rowing shell rigger are sold separately)

WinTech's superior pontoon design provides ample stability, while ensuring a smooth, dry row with minimal drag. Pontoon measures 37" L x 6" W x 4" H . 3 lb per pontoon. Pull-pins allow you to quickly mount and de-rig the shell during launching. The bracket allows a range of 3-6" of adjustment to accommodate rowers of varying weights. The pontoons can be raised off the water for emergency back up situations like cold-water rowing or for instructional purposes. (See Pontoon Bracket below).

Pontoon Brackets

Item: 7709-7719 Pontoon Brackets

Pontoon bracket is installed at the end of the rigger so pontoon can be attached. Quick release pin allows pontoon to be adjusted for height and easy removal and installation. Bracket does not interfere with sliding seat rowing and can remain in place even while pontoons are not used. WinTech provides a variety of brackets to fit just about any rigger type.

Retro Kits to Convert Pre-2007 Adaptive Seats

Allows sliding seat (300mm width) to be used with adjustable tracks at 230mm.

Converts pre-2007 WinTech Adaptive Seat to FISA 300mm width attachment by replacing the entire bottom seat frame. (Kit is indicated in red).
