WinTech/King Racing To Host US Senior Women's National Team at 2011 HOCR
October 18, 2011
King and WinTech Racing will host the US Womenís Senior National Team on Saturday from 2-4 pm at this weekendís Head of the Charles Regatta. A meet and greet setting, including ten members of the US womenís squad, will include an opportunity to purchase the Power and Grace calendar and have it autographed by these World Champion and Olympian rowers. The Power and Grace calendar sale is one of the best ways you can contribute to the US National Teamís success in London, 2012. So, please stop by the WinTech and King Racing tent on Saturday from 2-4pm and support USRowing's quest for gold.
ďThe 2012 Power & Grace calendar allows people to learn more about our personalities outside of the boat. It's better than ever and will get you excited to watch us race our way to London," said 10-time U.S. National Team member and Olympic champion Mary Whipple.
The U.S. Womenís team trains at West Windsorís Mercer Lake and Princetonís Carnegie Lake, and recently returned from the 2011 World Rowing Championships with four medals including a sixth-consecutive world title in the womenís eight.
The King 8+ will continue its own quest for additional gold medals at the 2011 HOCR. Last year the new King 8+ was raced by one crew, Princetonís lightweight men. They beat the course record in that event by 12 seconds. This year there will be many more new King 8+'s on the Charles River, including Yale (IRA Champions), US Naval Academy, and the US Senior Lightweight National Team. Princetonís 2010 course record will be a tough one to beat, but if the coveted King hullís efficiency on head courses had anything to do with last yearís performance, odds are in favor that there will be a few more Kingís in the top five of the Lightweight eight event. Stop by the King Racing tent this weekend. See for yourself why Graeme Kingís hulls are quickly becoming the preferred 8+ in boathouses around the world. While youíre there talk to Graeme King in person, grab a free sticker, enjoy some hot cider, and walk away with some killer fire breathing King dragon apparel.
WinTech/King Racing is a proud supporter of USRowing and contributes fleets of shells on an annual basis to their cause. At this year's U23 World Championships the US Women's National Team returned with a new world's best time in the 2- (using a 70kg WinTech International & breaking their 2010 world's best time set in the same boat), and a bronze in the 8+ (rowing a 70kg King 8+).
We're looking forward to supporting USRowing's National Teams well into the future.
